The Asia-Pacific Protein Association (APPA) is providing the Asia-Pacific Protein Association Young Scientist Award to a young scientist working in the field of protein science in the Asia-Pacific region. The award aims to recognise the outstanding contributions made by the young scientist to the field of protein research.


Value of the Award:
  • 1000 USD towards travel costs and associated expenses to attend the 2020 World Conference on Protein Science in Sapporo, Japan.
  • Complimentary conference registration.
  • Named oral presentation slot.

Who can apply:
  • Applicants should be within 5 years since receipt of the PhD in 2020 (awarded on or after January 1, 2015) or enrolled in a PhD at an institution in an APPA country (Australia, Bangladesh, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam).

Application process:
  • Two-page CV summary to be submitted as a PDF file.
  • A 250-word abstract to also be submitted.
  • Letter of recommendation.
