Congratulations to "Dr. Sittiruk Roytrakul" on receiving the 2023 Professor M.R. Jisnuson Svasti Outstanding Protein Scientist of Thailand Award. This Award recognizes his outstanding research output, contribution to the development of proteomics research in Thailand and service to the protein science research community.

Dr. Roytrakul started his career as a Researcher at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC). He has been appointed as the Head of the Proteomics Research Laboratory in 2007 and later as a Team Leader of the Functional Proteomics Technology Team, Functional Ingredients and Food Innovation Research Group. He dedicated his years to improving proteomics technology using his knowledge in biochemistry, medical science and phytochemistry. The developed technologies could facilitate many researchers in academic and industrial communities for decades and have generated a large economic impact per year, especially since 2017. He received various M.Sc. and Ph.D. scholarships from the Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology (TGIST) to produce highly qualified and research-oriented graduates. From 2012-2023, he worked as principal investigator (PI) and co-investigator of several contracted projects funded from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the Agricultural Research Development Agency (ARDA) and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). Currently, he has contributed as an author to over 480 international journal publications and has a SCOPUS h-index of 37. In addition, he has been active in volunteering for several organizations promoting protein, biochemistry and biotechnology research, including the Protein Society of Thailand. Therefore, the selection committee chose to present the Prof. Dr. M.R. Jisnuson Svasti Outstanding Protein Scientist of Thailand Award for 2023 to Dr. Roytrakul for his many contributions to protein research in Thailand, especially in the field of proteomics.

The award and honorary lecture by the awardee will be presented at the 18^th International Symposium of the Protein Society of Thailand to be held at Chulabhorn Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand on August 28-30, 2024.
