The Protein Society of Thailand is pleased to announce the 2024 Professor M.R. Jisnuson Svasti Young Protein Scientist of Thailand Award is to be given jointly to Assistant Professor Dr. Kittikhun Wangkanont of Chulalongkorn University and Assistant Professor Dr. Thanyaporn Wongnate of the School of Biomolecular Science and Engineering, Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) for their outstanding research and contributions to development of protein science in Thailand.

The Young PST Award is awarded every two years to young scientists (under 40 at the beginning of the year) who have published excellent research and contributed to protein science in their institutions and in Thailand in general. Assistant Professor Dr. Kittikhun Wangkanont has focused his research on protein structure and function related to infectious diseases, immune lectins, and pathogens using various structural and biophysical techniques, while Assistant Professor Dr. Thanyaporn Wongnate has focused her research in the forefront of bioenergy, biorefinery, and biocatalysis related to enzyme stabilization, utilization, and their application. The Protein Society of Thailand is proud to be able to honor these outstanding scientists.

The awards and honorary lectures by the awardees will be presented at the 18^th International Symposium of the Protein Society of Thailand to be held at Chulabhorn Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand on August 28-30, 2024.
